When she left, Aguliera was all about Hollywood galmor. But in the come-back video for her latest song “Not Myself Tonight,” she pushes the envelope with three-minutes of non-stop sexual debauchery.
The song is the first single from Aguilera’s upcoming album, Bionic, which drops in June.
When she first made the leap from Disney to adult pop, fellow Disney alum Britney Spears was her biggest competition. They raced to the outer limits of sexuality and seduction to break away from their Disney past.
Now Lady Gaga has emerged as the raunchy new glam-rock queen.
Beyoncé has also staked out some of that territory with her Sasha Fierce alter ego, along with R&B singer Rihanna.
So the Dirrty Girl had a lot of ground to make up.
Not surprisingly, Aguilera went right to the top for her new video; she tapped Hype Williams, who also directed Lady Gaga’s “Video Phone” video, which is not the same as Lady Gaga’s and Beyoncé’s controversial nine-minute video “Telephone.”
Williams pulls out all the stops for X-Tina.
Christina is featured in various bondage-inspired costumes while she gets personal with male and female dancers. There’s more latex in this video than a truck load of surgical gloves.
The fetish wardrobe includes bondage gear, leather undies, diamond encrusted handcuffs, dog collar and a fetish ball gag.
She has her hands all over her lingerie-clad backup dancers who are tied at the wrists.
Shirtless men prace in the rain, gyrate in the bedroom and do a steamy group grope in a church.
“I’m out of character, I’m in rare form. And if you really knew me, you’d know it’s not the norm,” she sings. “Cause I’m doing things I normally wouldn’t do. That old me’s gone, I feel brand new.”
Good-bye glamor; hello Dirrty Girl.
