Lita Ford was born Lita Rossanna Ford to a British father and an Italian mother on September 19, 1958, in London, emigrating to the U.S. as a young child. She began playing the guitar at age 11, and just a few years later, she joined the Kim Fowley-produced Runaways at age 17, an all-female project designed to mix the aggression of simple, punky hard rock with teenage bad-girl sex appeal. When the band dissolved in 1979, Ford embarked on a solo career, supporting herself through a variety of jobs. She released her debut album, Out for Blood, in 1983; it was followed the next year by Dancin' on the Edge.

With Wicked Wonderland, her first full-length offering since 1995's Black, Lita shows that her flair for sexy, stomping, searing sounds has only gotten more vivid - which is mighty impressive, given a history that includes such classics as "Kiss Me Deadly" and the Ozzy Osbourne duet "Close My Eyes Forever." The disc, created in tandem with husband Jim Gillette - whose own musical history is highlighted by his work with acclaimed metallurgists Nitro - is a hard and heavy affirmation of the sensuality and smarts that've carried her through three decades of action.

We've managed to snag Lita from her busy schedule to talk to her briefly about her success, her love for metal, and her love for the kinkier side of life.

You're known as the "Heavy Metal Queen", how do you think you've influenced the music world being the "First Lady of Metal"?

I'm told by lots of people, and not just girls, that I inspired them to play guitar.

That means the world to me.

You've been playing and singing since you were 11; what inspired you towards a life of music?

I went to a concert and I was hooked. I knew right then that I would be a rock star!

What was your inspiration for your new album? Is there a specific underlying theme or message?

The album is about my husband and me - specifically our love life. We are very sexual and it's an extremely important part of our marriage. We wrote this album from our hearts AND crotch! It's very personal and we weren't sure if we should be so open but in the end we decided to just go for it. This is who we are and what we do.

How long have you and your husband Jim been married? How did you meet?

Fifteen awesome years! We knew each other for two weeks and got married on Friday the 13th! We met by chance at a nightclub. We instantly hit it off - he was gorgeous! Two weeks later we were married. Three years later our first boy was born on our anniversary.

What made you decide to release your single on Stockroom?

Actually it's not a single - just one of our songs. We love Stockroom and wanted to do something different! The song was inspired by using some of their gear so we thought it was a perfect match!

Speaking of Stockroom, what are some of your favorite toys on the site?

We like tons of stuff there. We have a lot of their cuffs and collars, dildos, plugs, floggers.... We have quite a collection!

Do you and your husband have any particular fetishes you're fond of?

Each other! Hahahaha! Let's see - Jim has a major thing for my feet! He likes to go down on them and I have a hard time getting him on to the next stage sometimes!

Do you have a favorite pornstar, or one that sticks out most in your mind?

My husband! He's the only stud I have eyes for...

Do you have a favorite adult movie, or genre of movie you prefer?

The ones we make at our house!

After this album, what are some of your future plans?

A lot of things are on the horizon. There's talk of a book, a reality show, and lots of touring. We have a few surprises up our sleeves also... Thanks for the support!

Lita and jim are 2 of the nicest people I've had the pleasure of talking to. I love her music, especially her new song "Piece". And who doesn't love a rocker that loves the kinky side of life?
