Definition
Bondage Tape is tape used primarily when dealing with the bondage, or BDSM fetish. It is approximately 2" to 3" wide, and does not hold adhesive properties to anything but itself. This is primarily beneficial to the wearer, as the ripping off of the tape will not damage, nor will it rip the hairs out of human skin. The tapes come in different type of thickness, some being very long and very thick so that it can be reused continuously. Bondage tape can be easily cut and reused (again, according to thickness). Often, people have their extremities bound inhibiting movement, while other times the tape is used to bound other areas such as the head and face, breasts, and even penis and testes.
Bondage tape may also be used as a clothing accessory or to make clothing out of (tops, skirts, dresses).
Safety
While the tape itself isn't extremely thick, if overlapped over and over, one may lose circulation, or pinch a nerve if done too tight. Open lines of communication are necessary with your partner to avoid this circumstance. It is also important to take caution when using bondage tape near or around the neck area, as suffocation can also occur.

Types
Bondage tape comes in different widths and thicknesses. They also come in different colors such as, red, black, purple, and white. The colors of bondage tapes become important when participants start to get into the mummification stages of use. Mummification deals with the overlapping of tape all the way up the skin so that it looks like a dress, or wraps used on mummies.
