Laughing is the audible expression of amusement and happiness. This can be caused through the telling of jokes or through tickling, among other things. A more extreme way of inducing laughter is through the use of nitrous oxide. In recent years a number of sites have appeared devoted to the fetish of people laughing as a result of inhaling nitrous oxide. The oldest and longest running site, The Laughing Gas Zone, first started as a Yahoo group in 1997 before becoming its own domain. Those with a fetish for laughter will often get aroused from watching or listening to people laugh. More often than not they are also into tickling.

Laughing is not considered harmful at all. It is a good way to relieve stress and it has actually been shown that laughing helps protect the heart. Other studies have shown that laughter helps lower blood sugar levels and raise infection-fighting antibodies in the body and boost the levels of immune cells.
