Licking is the act of passing the tongue over a smooth surface. While licking is very important to animals for human it’s mainly used for oral contact or stimulation. Licking plays a major role in oral sex and the term itself can sometimes be slang for a man performing oral sex on a woman. Many people have a fetish for licking but it is usually in combination of another part, i.e. feet, armpits, neck. Licking is also used in BDSM play, in particular boot worship. In these cases the submissive is usually ordered to use their tongue to clean a particularly dirty area. This is a common form of degradation.

There are no safety concerns in licking unless it is done as a form of degradation. In this case, depending on the area that is licked, a person can come in contact bacteria, which is a good way to contract various diseases.
