In its natural state, rubber is a sticky, elastic solid produced from a milky liquid called “latex.” Rubber can also be made synthetically with the same elasticity and durability. Because of rubber’s elastic properties, it is a very popular material used in the fetish community. Fetish items made out of rubber range from toys to clothing and there are even those with a specific fetish for everything rubber.
Rubber has a multitude of uses and can be found in many every day objects. Due to such high demand the majority of the world’s supply of rubber is man made. However Asia is still the main source of natural rubber, accounting for 94%.
Health Concerns
Those allergic to rubber (latex allergies) often develop them after repeated contact. These latex reactions can range from minor skin irritations to life threatening. They may also progress from a less serious reaction to a more severe one. Some medications can aid in latex allergies but the best solution for those with latex allergies is to stay clear from all things rubber.

History
Rubber is native of Central and South America. The use of rubber can be dated as far back as Pre-Columbian times where rubber balls have been found (the earliest dating to about 1600 BC.). According to sources the Spanish Conquistadores were so amazed by the bouncing balls of the Aztecs that they wondered if evil spirits possessed the balls.
