Definition
The act of sweating or perspiring is the production and evaporation of fluid (a combination of water and sodium chloride) excreted by the sweat glands in the skin. Sweat, which is the result of perspiration, is seen as a turn on by many due to the odor produced. It is believed that the smell of sweat and body odor affects mostly women although few women will admit to having a fetish for sweat. For many women sweating can be seen as a sign of virility, a very desired trait in a sexual partner. In gay males sweating can also be part of muscle worship.
Health Concerns
Excessive sweating known as Diaphoresis or Hyperhidrosis can lead to very bad body odor and should be treated by a physician.

Types
Eccrine Sweat Glands: Mostly located on the palms of hands, soles of feet and on the forehead. This type of sweat gland produces sweat that is composed of water and various salts and are used for body temperature regulation.
Apocrine Sweat Glands: Mostly located in the armpits and around genitals. These sweat glands release the most odors and are the ones most often associated with the sexual fetish.
