Definition
The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty consists of three novels: The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty, published in 1983, Beauty’s Punishment, published in 1984, and Beauty’s Release, published in 1985. This trilogy of erotic novels was written by Anne Rice under the pen name of A. N. Roquelaure. Much like The Story of O, this trilogy also heavily centers on the BDSM lifestyle. It contains maledom and femdom depictions as well as those involving bisexuality, ephebophilia and bestiality.
In this version of Sleeping Beauty she is awakened not by a kiss but with sexual intercourse. The Prince is then rewarded for ending the hundred-year enchantment with Beauty’s complete and total enslavement to him. This is the start of Beauty’s BDSM filled journey.
