There are dozens of different types of whips in existence but most commonly a whip is a long tapered flexible length of single strand or braided material with a stiff handle. The majority of whips are made of leather although other materials can be used. In the fetish community whips play a big part in the BDSM lifestyle, where it is used as a way to inflict pain and degradation on a submissive. The most common types of whips are: Bullwhips, Cat O’ Nine Tails, Crops and Floggers.
