The Greek fetish and BDSM community has thousands of members. That may be a surprise if you consider the population of the country but, if you check the most popular forums, you will find more than twenty thousand people. Most of them are in the two major cities: Athens and Thessalonika.
Recently, some alternative clubs hosted the community and presented the first BDSM shows in Greece. Thanks to Sin City (ex. Underworld) and Second Skin clubs, many people had the opportunity to enjoy Greek lifestyle performers. It was time the fetish evolution from Europe and US came to Greece.
So, the Greek Fetish and BDSM Scene made a big step forward. After the success of the first Absolute Fetish & BDSM Festival, the event came back with a vengeance. Taking place during the second Athens Erotica Expo, the Festival was set up in a very special and large space. This year, it featured two stages, live DJ sets, a large public dungeon, a dark room, a foot fetish tent, a bar and a fetish photo and sculpture exhibit.
Thousands of people visited the Festival and emerged in a very different dark world, where they came in touch with their darkest fantasies and desires. The dungeon was busy with people playing. On stage, the visitors had the opportunity to witness live performances by Domina Lola, Prema, Miss Enfer, Omega Red, •lectra, Dennis, Tyfeas, Phoenixxx, Elizabeth, Goddess Isabelle, and Jacqueline. All presented their work, including shibari, fetish, medical, S/M, domination/submission, and cross dressing performances. The performances were coordinated and directed by Fetish Goddess Eva.
The fetish / BDSM Scene in Greece is still in its infancy, with a small community of people, trying to improve things and help promote a different lifestyle to the public. Most of the people involved are mostly active on the internet and have few opportunities to live their desires in reality.
The event was organized by Absolute Fetish (www.absolute-fetish.com), in association with Megadance Show & Entertainment (www.megandance.gr). Absolute Fetish is an active group of lifestylers, with a common love for BDSM and its expressions. They have a different approach to performing, in the sense that they present what they experience in their personal everyday life. Each appearance, each show has wicked imagination, a great passion and a kinky soul of its own. Their goal is to bring the public closer to a creative, vivid, pan-hedonistic group of people, and expose it to a wide range of BDSM and kinky activities, a variety of fetish games, and letting them discover their own.
The crowning of this effort are the appearances of the first Greek performer, Domina LoLa in the fetish scene of Amsterdam (Wasteland and Clinic). This year, she will present her show at a Torture Garden night in Athens.
Alternative and fetish clothing is not also something we had in the past and Greece was suffering a complete absence of fetish and BDSM fashion. The 4-showgirls store came to fill this gap and the owner, George Manos, is also the Manager of megandance.gr, promoting the most important BDSM and fetish events in Greece.
